Job Description

We are seeking a Soft Skills Instructor to join our team at our new Academy offering the Vocational Education & Training (VET) by EHL (Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne) program in hospitality. You will be required to deliver induction and various programs to develop students soft skills, with a particular focus on employability.

You should be fluent in English, with a strong coaching skills and an inherent passion for people.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primarily responsible for training students in group and individual classroom dynamics in soft skills through use of innovative teaching techniques and tools like case studies, audios/videos, role plays, activities/workshops, projects, evaluation methods etc. to equip them to successfully become an outstanding employee
  • Develop scenarios for students in various commercial and business and social context to engage and empower them with social intelligence and how to handle unfamiliar situations
  • Develop students’ passion for the hospitality and the service environment
  • Develop students standards in deportment, body language, grooming and personal communication.
  • Impart Training on communication, intercultural, interpersonal skills, workplace readiness, behavioural and personality development.
  • Assess and evaluate students for their proficiency, comprehension, familiarity with the programs and job-readiness.
  • Develop students business and employability skills such as personal effectiveness and workplace competencies.
  • Develop students ability to demonstrate and uphold the highest of professional standards and service excellence ethos.
  • Develop students passion for life-long learning
  • Participating in In-Service education and training courses as well as in continuing professional development opportunities, and taking part in action research exercises;
  • Maintain good order and discipline amongst students under one’s care and safeguarding their health and safety at all times;
  • Provide and publish MIS, other reports and insights as per requirement.
  • Develop course materials and continuously improve them based upon changing trends in the industry and employee contexts
  • Develop course materials for future academic pathways
  • Incorporate the Academy’s objectives into the curriculum by remaining up to date with mission and initiatives
  • Document and report on student progress
  • Evaluate student performance
  • Provide and publish MIS, other reports and insights as per requirement.
  • Be on hand to provide consultation on student learning for other faculty members
  • Attending meetings with parents and staff to discuss student progress
  • Attend staff development days to improve skills and receive help and feedback from colleagues
  • Represent the Academy at events, open days, career fairs and any other public events.
  • Demonstrate the highest of professionalism, ethics and uphold the Academy’s service excellence ethos.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned
  • Support on all marketing activities and events.

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

Pre-requisites

  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and decision making skills
  • High energy, enthusiastic, motivational training style with excellent public speaking competency
  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent creative and conceptual thinking abilities especially on customer psychology

Professional Experience

  • 4-5 years of experience as a trainer in soft skills.
  • Background and extensive knowledge of the hospitality sector

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or similar field.
  • Relevant training certification in soft skills would be beneficial.

Language

  • Excellent command of English with a strong vocabulary and knowledge of service language.
  • Additional language is a plus especially in Arabic and French.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
